The Mi 360°, as its name suggests, features the ability to rotate 360-degrees and is capable of recording footage at 2304 x 1296 resolution. Specifically, its camera comes with a “highly sensitive” 3MP highly sensor with f/1.4 aperture and 6P lens, which Xiaomi claims is able to capture detailed and bright coloured images even in low-light conditions. A bold claim indeed, as the most crucial time for home surveillance is at night where most security cameras sensors often struggle. Additionally, it also has a viewing angle of up to 118-degrees. Besides that, the new Xiaomi security camera includes an AI detection algorithm that alerts users via automated messages if it detects a person’s silhouette. Also onboard are dual microphones with active noise cancellation technology that supports two-way communication, and the device itself also works with Google Assistant.
For privacy-conscious users, the camera on the Mi 360° can be prompted to swivel inwards when the Mi Home app’s privacy mode is activated. Hackers have been reported to hijack smart security camera feed, so this particular feature aims to remedy that risk. The Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro is priced at RM219. It will be available in Malaysia via the official Xiaomi stores on Lazada and Shopee on 14 February, as well as authorised Mi Stores and other official retailers on 16 February. It is also worth noting that the device is readily available for purchase via Xiaomi Global’s official store on Shopee, but expect shipping to take a while as all products from the store are delivered from China.
