Compared to its immediate predecessor, you can definitely see the resemblance, even if there are a few design changes including the new location of its fingerprint scanner which is now beneath the display. The Black Shark 2 dual rear cameras are located on the top left part of the phone instead of the upper center position as per its predecessors.
Inside, the Black Shark 2 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, and a 4000mAh battery. Making use of the AI Engine of the Snapdragon 855, the Black Shark 2 is capable of what it calls AI vibration, making the phone vibrate differently depending on context. An exaple of this will be different vibrations when firing different guns in PUBG. Another key feature that makes the Black Shark 2 a gaming smartphone is its 240Hz touch sample rate display. When playing fast-paced games, this translates to actions the moment you tap on the screen. The display itself is a 6.39-inch 19.5:9 AMOLED display. Flanking them at the top and bottom are a pair of stereo speakers.
The Black Shark 2 comes with four RAM and storage configurations as well as three colours. The first configuration comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is priced at RMB3199 (~RM1942). Next comes the 8GB/128GB combo, on the other hand, comes with a price tag of RMB3499 (~RM2124). The final two configurations come in the form of 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB combos, and they are priced at RMB3799 (~RM2306) and RMB4199 (~RM2549), respectively.
As for colours, the Black Shark 2 comes in Black, Blue and Silver. That said, the latter two is only available for models with 256GB storage. Stay tuned while we find out more about the phone’s Malaysian pricing and availability.
