Pay attention, however, as the walk-in dates are staggered, presumably to avoid overcrowding at the PPVs. Individuals who have had their first-dose appointment cancelled may opt to walk-in but those waiting for their second dose will have to stick to their appointment. The programme is split into four different groups: Malaysian citizens
Those over 40 or with comorbidities get the first pick between 2 to 4 AugustHealthy citizens over 18 will can get their shots between 5 to 22 August
Non-Malaysians
Those over 40 or with comorbidities can go between 9 to 11 August18 and over get their turn between 12 to 22 August
Walk-ins start at 2pm for those dates and the programme will only run at selected PPVs listed above, with only the Bukit Jalil stadium serving walk-ins for non-citizens. On that note, do remember to bring proof that you live in Klang Valley; your IC, driving license, bills, work ID, student card, or any other official document that might have your Klang Valley address. If you have comorbidities and want the earlier dates, you’ll also need to provide proof such as a doctor’s letter. The Klang Valley walk-ins come after Operation Surge Capacity, a one-week operation that aimed to give the first dose to the entire adult population in the region starting from 26 July. OSC was an amazing feat, with 96.7% of adults in Selangor and KL being at least partially vaccinated as of 1 August. Khairy Jamaluddin, JKJAV coordinating minister, announced that they are aiming to fully vaccinate at least half of Malaysia’s adult population by 31 August, Merdeka Day. The minister also mentioned that walk-ins will be expanded to other states soon. (Sources: JKJAV/Twitter [1][2], NST // Image: JKJAV/Facebook)
