First off, let’s point out the similarities between the two. Based on several reports, both V25 models come with 5G connectivity, dual Nano-SIM support, Bluetooth 5.2, an under-display optical fingerprint scanner, and Android 12 via vivo’s Funtouch 12 interface. Though arranged differently, the duo features the same rear triple camera setup which consists of a 64 MP f/1.9 primary, 12 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide, and a 2 MP macro sensor. It’s also worth mentioning that both models come with the same colour-changing gimmick that is included on their predecessor, the vivo V23, which was released locally earlier this year. For those unfamiliar, this feature enables the phones’ rear panels to temporarily shift to a different colour or tone when exposed to sunlight. The standard vivo V25 is equipped with a flat 6.44-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2404 pixel resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a 50 MP selfie-camera housed within its notch. Internally, the smartphone features a MediaTek Dimensity 900 octa-core SoC, along with a Mali-G68 GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Powering the phone is a 4,500 mAh battery, which comes with 44W fast charging capability via USB-C. According to the company, 30 minutes worth of charging is enough to top up 61% of its battery. Up next is the series’ top-shelf variant, the vivo V25 Pro. Unlike its sibling, this model is offered in a slightly larger size thanks to its curved 6.56-inch AMOLED screen with 1080 x 2376 pixel resolution, a faster refresh rate of 120Hz, and HDR10+ support. Instead of a notch, the Pro model features a punch-hole cutout which houses a smaller 32 MP front-facing camera. In addition, the phone is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset, a Mali-G77 GPU, up to 12 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The V25 Pro also comes with a slightly larger battery capacity of 4,830 mAh, which features a faster charging rate of 66W. vivo claims that the latter is capable of topping up 71% of the phone’s battery with just 30 minutes of charging. Both the standard and Pro variants of the vivo V25 series are slated to launch in Malaysia on 29 August 2022. Naturally, the company is expected to reveal either model’s local pricing, configuration choices, and date of availability by then. (Source: vivo Malaysia press release / GSMArena [1] [2])
