To be fair, this is not your usual Omega release though. Made in collaboration with Swatch, the new MoonSwatch collection has been described by both companies as a “playful take” on the world-famous Omega Speedmaster chronograph. [Image: Swatch.]The collection offers 11 different colourways and each of them is meant to represent the planetary bodies within the Solar System including the Sun and Moon, as well as the eight IAU-defined planets and Pluto. For example, the “Mission on Earth” variant is draped in green, blue, and white which matches the planet’s colour palette. The case of these watches was built from a composite material called Bioceramic – a mix of two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-sourced plastic – which Swatch has just introduced to the market last year. All Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch also comes with a Velcro strap and a price tag of RM1,065 in Malaysia. All 11 variants of the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch collection. [Image: Swatch.]While Swatch has quite a number of outlets throughout the country, the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch collection will only be made available at Swatch Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on 26 March. We don’t know if the mall let you form an early queue in front of the store right now but we anticipate that this collection will go off like a rocket (heh) given the Omega and Speedmaster name on these watches.
