Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G also features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with 120Hz refresh rate and a top-centred cutout. What really sets it apart is the new rear panel (which is available in Blue, Brown and Green), along with an additional camera to its setup. Also onboard is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and dual nano SIM support, but no 3.5mm headphone jack. Running the show behind the scenes is a 5G-enabled MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, which is paired together with Mali-G68 MC4 graphics acceleration, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. And of course, the latter two can be expanded further with the former going up to 16GB via the onboard RAM Plus feature, and the latter up to 1TB via microSD. Besides that, the phone is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC support, as well as Android 12 via Samsung’s One UI 4.1 platform. Powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery which comes with 25W fast charging support via USB-C. However, Samsung notes that the compatible 25W charger is not included as part of the package and is required to be purchased separately. As for imaging, on the back of the Galaxy M53 5G is a quad camera setup which consists of a 108MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro shooters. These are a major upgrade over last year’s model in terms of sensor count and size, and are almost comparable with Samsung’s other top-end midranger, the Galaxy A73 5G. Meanwhile, housed within the display’s cutout is a 32MP selfie camera which, like the rear setup, is capable of capturing 4K videos at 30 fps. The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is slated to arrive in Malaysia this Thursday on 16 June 2022 at a retail price of RM 1,999. Those interested can pre-order the new mid-range smartphone via Senheng’s online store and its subsidiary SenQ. (Source: Senheng / SenQ)
