Based on new generation Kryo cores, the Snapdragon 8150 is said to feature a new core arrangement. Instead of the usual four efficient core and four high-performance core arrangement, the new SoC may use a 2+2+4 arrangement. This is similar to the recent Kirin 980 and hints at a processor designefor more intensive processing on the go, as well as built-in Neural processing units (NPU) for AI.
When compared to the Snapdragon 845, the new SoC is significantly better in multi-core processes. It is not up there for the single core processes, but within spitting distance of the top performers. It is however outpaced by the A12 processor in the iPhone XS Max.
One of the first phones using the new SoC was the recently announced FlexPai from Rouyu Technology. We should see more phones using this new SoC in the coming months. (Source: GeekBench via GSMArena)
