Twitter user SnoopyTech has shared images of the phone, as well as a very limited list of specs that the phone will carry. What is most likely to be drawing eyeballs is the “ThinkPhone by Motorola” branding at the bottom right corner of the back. The font is similar, if not outright identical, to the ThinkPad laptops by Lenovo, the line itself an IBM legacy before it was acquired. Beyond that, there’s also a mysterious red button on the top left that’s reminiscent of the ThinkPad’s red Trackpoint....

These images come via Chinese site 52audio, which has previously shared similar images. The site also claims that the third generation Apple AirPods will come with some features from the Pro version. Among them are the pressure-relieving system that reduces the discomfort of having them in your ear for extended periods of time. Another is the inclusion of more touch controls beyond the single and double tap controls. The authenticity of these images is still uncertain though....

The image was first posted by MoBen over at Overclock – who also seems to have procured the 11700K through similar (German) channels such as Anandtech – and shows off the 11700K’s die in all its glory. It is reported that both the 11700K and last generation’s Core i9-10900K possess the same die size. However, by MoBen’s account and after a quick side-by-side comparison, they say that the 11700K is estimated to be between 260mm2 and 270mm2, making it approximately 28% larger....

Just like its competitor, Reels allow users to create short videos integrated with music that can be shared with friends and followers. These videos can also be discovered on Instagram’s Explore page, which also includes a dedicated tab for the new feature for users to browse. Through Reels, users can record videos up to 15 seconds long and add popular music to run in the background. Again, like TikTok, it also provides a variety of filters and effects to make the videos more visually appealing....

According to Bob Swan, the current CEO of Intel, the company had identified a defect within the 7nm process that was causing degradation issues. To remedy the situation, Swan says that his company will be depending on third-party foundries from this point onwards, which essentially his contingency fan. Due to the defect and subsequent setback with its internal targets, Intel is now projecting that a viable 7nm-based CPU will only be arriving sometime between the year 2022 and 2023, the former year being when Swan expects the consumer market to receive the new processor....

According to the guideline, the “a” in the “aXXX” moniker refers to the Alchemist GPU. This actually clears up two details for us: Firstly, we now know that Intel isn’t going the way of NVIDIA or AMD, with the two GPU makers slapping the RTX and RX moniker to their respective GeForce and Radeon GPUs. Instead, Intel just wants to keep it simple. The second detail is Intel’s categorisation of its GPUs, now and in the future....

The “sneak peek” was posted by Ryan Shrout, Chief Performance Strategist at Intel, and founder of PC Perspective. Shrout tweeted a screenshot detailing the 11900K’s PCIe 4.0 storage performance against an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, with both CPUs using a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 NVMe SSD as their baseline. As per the chart, the 11900K can be seen pulling ahead of its rival by approximately 11% on the PCMark 10 Quick System Drive benchmark, which is mildly impressive, depending on who you talk to....

9to5Mac reports that the Apple Music app in the first beta of iOS 14.6 contains code that mentions Dolby Atmos, Dolby Audio and Lossless. Though this seems to be found only on the first beta of the mobile operating system. The outlet says that the codes were not found in the internal files of iOS 14.5 or iOS 014.6 beta 2. The Apple Music app doesn’t currently have support for Dolby Atmos or Dolby Audio....

While most phishing emails are easily filtered out as spam by service providers like Google’s Gmail and Microsoft’s Outlook due to their dubious origins, this particular email carries all the necessary credentials to bypass all filters, simply because it is being sent from a bulk email service that has been pre-approved by iPay88. A closer look at the email headers confirms that the phishing email originated from elasticemail.com, one of the two email services approved by iPay88 to send out emails to their customers and merchants....

As usual, iFixit provides a very detailed account of the whole process. But the biggest takeaway is probably that there is a lot more modularity here. This makes things easier to replace when things go wrong with the iPhone 12. The parts are also now more commonly held together with screws rather than glue. From what was shown in the video, the dummy units used were some of the true-to-life models. As showcased, the iPhone 14, as well as the 14 Max units, have notch designs that are identical to one another. Prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has, on Twitter, responded to purported leaked schematics of the iPhone 14 Pro. He claims that the main reason for the larger and more prominent bump is due to the upgrade of the “wide camera” from the 12MP unit that’s on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max to the 48MP unit that Kuo claims will be in this year’s iterations. The initial tweet came from frequent leakster Max Weinbach, which shows an increase of about five percent in each dimension of the camera island bump....

To make the iPhone SE relevant to users in 2022, the new iteration is now powered by A15 Bionic which is the same processor that is being used in the higher-end iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. This allows the new phone to be up to 1.8x than iPhone 8 according to Apple which may seem like an odd comparison but it may signify the kind of crowd that Apple is targeting for the 2022’s SE....

Javier Villalba, McAfee’s lawyer, confirmed that McAfee’s death was suicide and that the man had hung himself inside his cell. At the time of his death, McAfee had already been held by Spanish authorities for nine months. He was 75 years old. Villalba says that McAfee’s suicide was clearly the result of a “cruel system that had no reason to keep a man in jail for so long”. Arrested back in October 2020, McAfee was facing charges of tax evasion in the US, as well as a securities fraud charge in relation to a cryptocurrency pump-and-dump scheme, to which he defiantly denied as recently as June this year....
