Known as the OPPO A74 4G, this variant comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with a selfie camera cutout on the top left corner and an under-display fingerprint sensor. However, its screen only supports a refresh rate of up to 60Hz, as opposed to the 90Hz featured on last month’s 5G model. On the software side of things, the phone runs on Android 11 via OPPO’s ColorOS 11.1 interface out of the box. Hardware-wise, the A74 4G comes with a Snapdragon 662 chipset, along with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and expanded storage support via microSD. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with 33W USB-C fast charging capability, which the brand claims is able to top-up 100% charge in just 72 minutes.
Another factor that differentiates the 5G and 4G variants of the A74 is the rear cameras. The latter features the same 48MP main shooter, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor, but lacks the former’s 8MP ultra-wide camera. Meanwhile, housed in the display’s cutout is a 16MP selfie camera. While the OPPO A74 4G is practically a different device compared to last month’s release, it’s still an option for consumers who are looking for a non-5G smartphone at sub-RM1,000 price range. Speaking of which, the handset will retail at RM899 and is slated to go on sale tomorrow on 20 May, exclusively via the official OPPO store on Lazada. Those who purchase the phone tomorrow are also entitled to receive complimentary gifts including OPPO Enco W11 earbuds and a RM20 Lazada voucher while stocks last.
It’s also worth noting that OPPO will be holding a limited flash sale on Lazada’s Tech Mall later at midnight, where customers may stand a chance to pick up the new A74 4G at only RM799. However, keep in mind that purchases made during the flash sale do not include the free gifts mentioned above. (Source: OPPO Malaysia press release)
