Details for the two devices – known as the Z6 II and Z7 II (surprise, surprise) – are still kept under wraps but rumours of their specifications have been circulating around the web prior to this. According to a report by Nikon Rumors, both models may feature some similarities with the original Z6 and Z7, namely their body designs and EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) hardware. The report added that the new duo will each include Dual EXPEED processor, improved autofocus (for face, eye and animal detection), more buffer memory, 4K/60p video capability and USB power charging. Interestingly enough, the site also claims that the Nikon Z6 II will be the last camera from the brand to feature a 24MP sensor. Speculations aside, further information regarding the new Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II will be fully revealed during the upcoming launch. According to the teaser, the event will be taking place on 14 October 2020 at 12am ET (12pm local time), and will likely be livestreamed via Nikon’s official website and social media channels.
