Proton refers to the combined performance of the new N95 filter with the X70’s existing High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter as the Intelligent Air Purification System (P-IAPS). This system acts as a barrier against contaminated air and offers a high level of protection against airborne pollutants.
The P-IAPS will only be offered on the Proton X70 for now. However, the manufacturer is currently working to fit the N95 cabin filter in their other car models as well, according to Proton CEO Dr Li Chunrong. Owners of current X70 models interested in upgrading their vehicle with the N95 cabin filter can book a service appointment with Proton from 13 May onwards. Appointments can be made via their official website (link below) or by contacting their service outlet. The upgrade itself is priced at RM79, excluding labour charges.
The company added that a service campaign is also scheduled to run from 18 May to 18 August 2020, where a 15-percent discount on the price of the filter will be offered to all Proton X70 owners. (Source: Proton [press release] [service booking])
