Unlike its predecessors, the supposedly upcoming smartband features a tall but rounded screen and a curvier body. On each side of the device are what appears to be long capacitive control panels for user interaction, which is somewhat a significant upgrade over the tiny single-sided panel featured on the third and fourth generation models. And should these leaked renders be proven accurate, this would make the Charge 5 to be the first from the series to feature a non-monotonous display. Not much is known regarding the smartband’s specifications, battery life, or its included health and fitness monitoring features. However, it is safe to assume that it will likely inherit most of its predecessor’s main functionalities such as heart rate, sleep and workout tracking, as well as oxygen saturation monitoring, phone-to-wearable notifications, and several others.
Based on the renders provided by Blass, the allegedly upcoming Fitbit Charge 5 would be offered in three colour options: black, grey, and beige. Unfortunately, the leakster did not mention when the smartband is expected to be launched. Regardless, there’s a chance that the Google-owned brand wearables company may announce it soon, especially given Blass’ track record of leaking product renders often a couple of months or weeks prior to their official unveiling.
