Prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has, on Twitter, responded to purported leaked schematics of the iPhone 14 Pro. He claims that the main reason for the larger and more prominent bump is due to the upgrade of the “wide camera” from the 12MP unit that’s on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max to the 48MP unit that Kuo claims will be in this year’s iterations. The initial tweet came from frequent leakster Max Weinbach, which shows an increase of about five percent in each dimension of the camera island bump. The bump itself is shown to be going up from 3.60mm on the iPhone 13 Pro to 4.17mm on the supposed schematics of the iPhone 14 Pro.
— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) March 27, 2022 As usual, even if Kuo is accurate in his analysis, things are still subject to change until closer to the launch of the phones. The iPhone 14 series is expected to launch closer to the end of the year. (Source: Ming-Chi Kuo / Twitter via MacRumors, Max Weinbach via 9to5Mac)
