To make the phone more secure, the company has come out with a social-based mechanism that users can utilize in order to rebuild data in a new device if their original phone is lost or stolen. The mechanism requires them to provide recovery details to trustworthy family member or friends through a downloadable key management app which can then be used to re-piece the info.
At the same time, the company is also opening the phone to third-party developers that are interested in creating their own key apps and wallets. As for the components within the phone itself, we are definitely looking at a flagship-level device. Contained within the Exodus 1 is a 6-inch Quad HD+ 18:9 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Pre-installed with Android Oreo, the IP68-certified phone also features a combination of 12MP and 16MP sensors for its rear camera alongside a pair of 8MP sensors for its front camera as well as a 3500mAh battery. Interested parties can head on to the official website to pre-order Exodus 1 although the company only accepts Bitcoin of Ethereum for the time being. The phone is currently listed at 0.15 BTC or 4.78 ETH which means it can be obtained for around RM 4000 at the moment although Exodus 1 will only be shipped to users from December 2018 onwards.
