Rumours have it that the action camera seen in the clip is going to be the Hero 8, the long-awaited follow-up to the current Hero 7 range. Initially, it was rumoured that the next generation Hero would sport new accessories like a mountable display, external LED flash and a media module that adds two hotshoes to the action cam.
Based on recent leaks, the Hero 8 may be limited to filming 4K in 60 fps, rather than the rumoured 120 fps. Potentially, the action cam may also be getting a new GP2 processor and a 12MP sensor, along with improved lens and stabilization. On the other hand, another set of information suggests that the upcoming Hero 8 could sport a 1220mAh battery and capable of recording in Full HD at 240 fps. On another note, it’s also possible that the new action camera may even be a follow-up to another one of GoPro’s action camera, the Max360. As of now, information about that camera is still scarce, it’s expected to have better performance than the Fusion camera that launched back in 2017.
Beyond the teaser, there’s no additional information about the camera. On that note, we’ll just have to wait until 1 October to see what GoPro has in store for the world. (Source: GoPro via TechCrunch // Images: GoPro)
