Deadline reports that Kari Skogland has been signed on to direct all the episodes of what is now being described as a “six-part miniseries.” The Emmy-nominated, BAFTA-winning Skogland, known for her fantastic work in The Handmaid’s Tale, Netflix’s The Punisher and The Walking Dead is a compelling choice for a helmer. Looking at her resume, it’s entirely possible that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (this seems to be the title at least for now) would be a serious spy-action-thriller of sorts. Apart from that, Captain America: Civil War‘s Daniel Bruhl (Helmut Zemo) and Emily Van Camp (Sharon Carter) will also be reprising their roles.
But perhaps the most exciting update from Deadline is that Falcon accepting Captain America’s shield will figure into the miniseries. In the final moments of Avengers: Endgame Steve Rogers comes back to the prime timeline as an old man. He then passes his shield and the proverbial torch to Sam Wilson/Falcon, implying that Sam will be the new Captain America going forward. (Source: Deadline)
