The tourney will take place between 23 and 28 August, which is between a Tuesday and a Sunday. The tourney’s final weekend will be held at the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting, just as it did all those years ago. It will also have a prize pool of US$400000, the same as the prize pool offered back in 2018.
Being held in August, this means that ESL One Malaysia this year will be held about two months before The International down south in Singapore. That being said, this is not a tourney that’s part of the Dota Pro Circuit, which culminates in the biggest Dota 2 tourney of the year. If you’re interested in watching the tourney live, then you’ll be glad to know that tickets to ESL One Malaysia 2022 will be available for purchase starting 10 June at 3PM. Prices range from RM69 to RM399 for early birds, depending on the seating and if you’re getting the tickets for one day or three days. Though if you get them late, as in from 16 July onwards, prices go up, with the new range being between RM75 and RM439.
As mentioned, only the last three days will be held at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting. The first three days, on the other hand, will only be streamed. This is when the teams battle it off in the best-of-two round-robin group stages. Getting to the quarterfinals then sees the teams battle it out in a best of three, double-elimination matches. As for the Grand finals, the best two teams will duke it out in a best of five. (Source: ESL One)
