The process is fairly straightforward. All you need to do it to go to your account page, then head to transactions. If a purchase is eligible for refunds, the option will be shown, next to the “email receipt” button. But as with all refund policies, the EGS has a number of criteria that your refunds have to meet for it to be possible. For starters, you’ll have to request for the refund within 14 days of purchase. You’ll also need a playtime of less than two hours.
Interestingly, if you’ve been banned from a game for violating its terms of serice, this will void your refund eligibility. Epic Games can also deny you your EGS refunds if it thinks you are abusing the policy, for whatever reason. Once you’ve requested for your refund, your money will be returned to you via the payment method of the purchase. The amount of time the process takes is determined by the payment method, and some may even make refunds impossible. This is one key feature that may make the Epic Games Store acceptable for those who dislike it. In fact, it’s amazing in its own right that the platform made for so long without it.
