Of course, it goes without saying that both the technology and hardware have advanced considerably since 2007; with the m15 Ryzen Edition R5, the laptop now combines the power of AMD’s Ryzen 5000 H-Series Mobile series CPU with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 series mobile GPUs. Specifically, users can opt between a Ryzen 7 5800H or an overclockable Ryzen 9 5900HX; either an RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 discrete GPU, both with a maximum TDP of 115W. Users also can choose between 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM, and an SSD storage capacity of up to 4TB. As for the display, the m15 Ryzen Edition R5’s panel is rated at 15.6-inches, but users will have a choice between a Full HD 165Hz, Full HD 360Hz, or WQHD (2560 x 1440) 240Hz panel. On that note, only the last two options provide NVIDIA G-Sync support.
In additioin, the m15 Ryzen Edition R5 is also fitted with an ultra-low profile mechanical keyboard that Dell says is co-developed with Cherry MX. The Dell Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 will be available starting 20 April in the US, while Malaysia will only receive the laptop starting May this year. No local pricing has been provided, but the starting price in the US is expected to start from US$1734 (~RM7422). (Source: Dell, Videocardz)
